Tinathon is back for its 14th year!

2nd October 2023

Tinathon will be held as usual in Wests Centre on Friday 6th October, 8am to 2.30pm and will seek donations of tins of food in support of The Shelter Trust for the homeless in Jersey.  All tins donated will be sorted ready for use either to supplement food supplies in the Shelter sites or for distribution in food parcels. In 2022 over 10,000 food items were donated.

20 primary schools have agreed to collect for Tinathon. The public, businesses, and supporting organisations are asked to bring tins of meat, fish, vegetables, soup or fruit to Wests Centre on 6th October. If collection of tins is required, the email contact is tinathonjersey@hotmail.co.uk.

Tin donation points are also very kindly being provided from 30th September to 5th October by all Waitrose stores, all Alliance stores, Co-op Grand Marche St Helier (throughout September) Communicare St Brelade, The National Trust office at The Elms, NatWest International Library Place, Trinity Church and St Ouen’s Church.  The Shelter Trust is extremely grateful to these supporting organisations and to our long-standing main sponsors, Rowlands Recruitment who have once again covered all financial costs of the event.

In addition to the above donation points, we have a team of volunteers based at Natwest, Library Place, St. Helier this week, Monday 2nd October up to and including Thursday 5th October collecting donations of tins.  Thank you to everyone who has already dropped off tins to us at Natwest.
