Tinathon - Friday 10th October 2025
7th October 2025
On Friday 10 October, World Homeless Day, the Shelter Trust will once again bring our community together for the annual Tinathon at West’s Centre, St Helier (8am – 2.30pm).
This isn’t just about collecting tins, though every donation helps stock our kitchens and fills food parcels for Islanders in need. Last year alone, we distributed more than 1,500 food parcels.
It’s also about recognising the scale of the work Shelter Trust does every single day as Jersey’s largest provider of homelessness services:
- Supporting around 100 people every night across seven sites
- Providing 117 bed spaces, from emergency accommodation to women-only and young people
- Serving over 100,000 meals each year
- Shelter’s services include emergency access accommodation, outreach, day services, women only provision, young person’s project, resettlement and aftercare.
Here’s how you can take part:
- Bring tins to West’s Centre on 10 October
- Drop off donations at Waitrose, Alliance, M&S, Co-op Grand Marché, Communicare St Brelade, and many Island churches throughout October
- Schools and workplaces are also joining in – ask yours how to get involved
- Or donate an e-tin online via our JustGiving page
With your contribution to this year's Tinathon, you’re helping the Shelter Trust continue its vital work, supporting people every day of the year and ensuring no one faces homelessness alone.
